Did anyone else get your diploma today? Im rather sad to say the least as it has the wrong day of graduation on it and doesnt even list Honors or Cum Laude:(( I knew the minor would not show but come on the wrong day and no mention of Cum Laude status? Quite disappointing!

Contact the school and they will correct it. Mistakes happen and they will fix it. My MBA diploma had mistakes on it and my grad school reissued my diploma. I am sure that Cal Poly will take care of you.

At least you are better off than my undergrad diploma! I graduated from the UofA in 1987 and Evan Mecham, the then governor of Arizona, signed it. Mecham became the first U.S. governor to simultaneously face removal from office through impeachment, a scheduled recall election, and a felony indictment. He was the first Arizona governor to be impeached. In addition to that he was a documented racist.

Mecham cancelled Martin Luther King Day in Arizona causing years of boycotts by organizations that would have held conventions, concerts and sports events in the state. Arizona even lost a Super Bowl because of his antics. Furthermore, claims of prejudice were made against Mecham after he defended the use of the word “pickaninny” to describe black children, claimed that high divorce rates were caused by working women, claimed America is a Christian nation to a Jewish audience, and said a group of visiting Japanese businessmen got “round eyes” after being told of the number of golf courses in Arizona. In response to claims that he was a racist, Mecham said, “I’ve got black friends. I employ black people. I don’t employ them because they are black; I employ them because they are the best people who applied for the cotton-picking job.”

No amount of lobbying could get his name removed from my diploma because it was not a mistake according to school authorities. However, it is embarrassing to anyone of my generation that remembers the idiot.

It sure takes a long time for Cal Poly to get diplomas out. You would think it would be easy for them to check all your records electronically.
I havent got mine yet. No email yet either. I’m starting to be concerned ! Do they send them out alphabetically ? Or by college of Engineering, Liberal Arts, and so on ?

Anybody on here ( Other than Math91) who graduated June 2013 receive their diploma or an email yet ? Sure takes a long time .

DS got his in the mail today.

Thanks for the reply vballmom. My son still hasnt received the “congratulatory email” or Diploma. He received an email shortly after the end of Spring 2013 term saying that it could take up to 12 weeks to receive the email and diploma. But I am amazed at how long it takes in this computer age to receive at least an email saying you have completed all degree requirements and have graduated. I can understand receiving the diploma would take a while with the printing an mailing. It seems like just a few clicks would give a list of all those who have graduated and then send an automated email saying " Congratulations, etc.". I believe all the Cal Poly Records Office would need to check is: 1) Has this person completed all academic requirements for the degree? 2) Does this person owe us any money ?
Seems quick and easy ! When did your DS get the email saying “Congratulations” ?

Reza I’m sorry but I don’t know when/if my son got that email.

Son made a call to Cal Poly last Friday, Sept 13. They looked up his records and said that he did in fact graduate June 15 2013. He received a congratulatory email today. In that email it said it will take up to another month to get his diploma in the mail !
I have no idea why this process takes SO long. But, the good news is, he did graduate. And the diploma will be arriving…some day.

So, Son FINALLY got his Diploma in the mail today. Nearly 4 months after graduation.
