If I want to apply direct admission for computer engineering in UW, do I put engineering or computer science in the first choice? Because I think they are different direct admission programs.
I put Computer Science and Engineering, ended up getting CS as my major when I was accepted and then changed to Computer Engineering by filling out a form with my advisor. This leads me to believe that if you really want them to view your application as one for Computer Engineering you should put “Computer Engineering”, but I would recommend you email a CSE advisor.
There is no direct admission to Computer Engineering. You either apply to Computer Science or to Engineering.
I think transfers can still get direct to Computer Engineering, but best to talk to advising as things have recently changed.
@uwcse2020, yes, transfers can direct apply to Computer Engineering. But according to the thread http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/university-washington/2090624-direct-admission-to-engineering-or-computer-science.html#latest, OP is a freshman applicant.
