Direct admit?non direct admit nursing?

If I don’t make it into CSUF’s nursing program, can I still be accepted to the school with a different major? Sorry, I’m new with all this.

And what’s a direct admit nursing program? non direct admit?

Direct admit = you are admitted to the major. However, some may require a high college GPA or other criteria beyond C grades or 2.0 college GPA in the specified course work.

Non direct admit = you are admitted as undeclared or in a pre major. You must earn a high college GPA and/or apply into a competitive admission process later to get into the major.

For CSU Fullerton, you can be admitted directly into their Nursing program as a Freshman but if you do not meet their criteria, you can still get an acceptance into CSU Fullerton in another major or Undeclared. You would then need to take the Nursing pre-requisite courses and apply to the Nursing program after Sophomore year.
The majority of the Nursing programs in California are not direct admit so you would apply after finishing the Nursing pre-req’s.
The direct admit Nursing programs in California are UCLA, UCI, SDSU, CSU Fullerton, Azusa Pacific, Univ of San Francisco (USF) and Dominican Univ.
