Is there a link where I can get the vocabulary in the Direct Hits volumes without buying the books?

I’ve also been looking for the same thing. Google books has about 50 of the words shown but besides that I have not found anything about the vocabulary in Direct Hits. Sparknotes 250 Word List, in my opinion, is another good source you can study vocabulary from. I have often seen some of the words in the Official SAT Guide Practice Tests and some of them also appeared on my November SAT.

Thanks. The reason I ask is because, looking at the 2 Blue Book practice tests I took so far(in which I got a 2380 and 2350), it was vocab on the sentence completion questions that made me lose the perfect score. On the 1st test, I missed 2 questions due to Vocab; in the 2nd test, I missed 5!

I also heard that studying roots helps. I know the common roots; do you know about any resourses that cover more word roots?

hey garfieldliker, your CR score is insane. would you tell me how you get such a high score on CR?

I think my taking AP English Language helps somewhat.

The key thing is that all answers are supported by the text, and the “inferences” are not difficult to make. Try the devil’s advocate method: if you’re stuck between 2 or 3 choices, instead of trying to justify to yourself which one is correct, try to justify why one(or two) of them is/are WRONG. That is, try to find the flaws of an answer, which are easier to find than the strengths. The choice with more flaws is usually the incorrect choice.

I think they were on flashcardexchange a while back, but I don’t know if they’re still on. Keep in mind that most CR prep books have their own list which should suffice.

Just by coincidence, garfieldliker, are your initials N.P.? If my memory serves me correctly, I recognize your sn and I think I may have gone to middle school with you. (LOL)
…and if I sound like I’ve lost my marbles right now, I assure you I’m being serious.

It’s still on flashcardexchange. Just search for Direct Hits, just keep in mind that it’s the 2010 version and not 2011.

Yes, my initials are NP. What’s an SN?

Are you talking about the private middle school or the public one?

The flashcards have been marked private

ya there marked as private

quizlet.com

has lots of vocab lists, just search

I have a question: the Direct Hits List is made up of words that came in previous SATs. So do other vocab lists. Thus, why is Direct Hits better at predicting words on future SATs than the others?

You would have to ask the author. No one can give you that answer here

i LOVE quizlet, esp. for AP U.S. History!
