A little disappointed here, but we went ahead with the MBP purchase. Both daughters have used Macs from K through 12 (and the district provided MBs from grades 7-12 for at-home use during the school years) and switching to PCs, for them, anyway, just wasn’t in the cards.

2D got the app GC and the printer. Since we all have iPhones and/or iPods anyway, not sure what would have happened if there’d been the usual offer.

do you get a printer rebate and the $100 app card? is the printer rebate a apple store gift card or is it actual money that you can spend anywhere?

Buy your mac from best buy with the black tie warranty. The apple warranty sucks. My d and son both have pros and the icare warranty does not cover much.

I got a rebate form to complete which supposedly will send me back the rebate funds; and also a gift card for the Apple store. I still don’t get it, but I’m not complaining.

You might check to see if the college has an IT store. At my son’s school the price was the same, but you got a three year warrenty instead of just one. The free printer he got is still sitting in its unopened box (a typical $100 printer where the ink costs more than the printer). He also got an iTouch (which is now obsolete).

What do you mean the touch is obsolete? Even the 1st gen touch runs most apps available even if it doesn’t have a camera or the very latest Os. It still can access the Internet and play music.

I’m surprised that apple downgraded their student incentive but I would choose a Mac without it.
