Optimism is a terrific quality and I am sure schools will value that, but there are a bunch of terrific schools out there that are not Ivys. If you have the GPA, recs, and EC's i mean go ahead man, but don't let hope blind you...don't be a pessimist, be a realist.

Ok let's kill this thread shall we?

I (like many others) clicked on this b/c it applied to me.. good grades but not a good SAT score. I figure let's clarify that first. Now a few points...

To whoever came on this thread to brag.. or to whoever is a parents and bragged about their kid...that's pretty messed up cuz people who click on this (like me) are concerned applicants and we don't want to hear about it. There's enough pressure on us...(hence coming onto this website).

To all of you who think its great to come on here and say that a bad SAT score will basically destroy your chances...ur wrong again b/c every college has different applicants, and there are times when you don't know what a certain college wants. It could depend on anything from what major you want to if you're a boy or girl.

I saw there wuzz some 1 that said that said what college you go to doesn't matter- thats also false.. which is why so many people come on this thing cuz' they care about what college they get into (DURRRR).

To all of you that want to rip eachother's heads off- get a life.

im joining this club, 3.8 UW with 9 AP's, but a 1900/2400 SAT...sad face

actually my had a 1900 also, and he got Harvard...

I kinda am in this club, but on the ACT. I got a decent score but how it breaks down is the Awful part. 34 English 31 Reading 28 Science and . . . 21 Math! It sucks so hard.

do not be discourAGED. JUST APPLY! i WISH THE BEST OF LUCK!

uggh, I may be joining the club in a little bit.

why? what was your score? which college are you applying to?

I feel the pain...I CANNOT do SAT Math for the life of me...
I don't understand how my percentiles can go from 85cr and 95w to like 47M....it sucks lol =/ I had the potential for a really good score, but I just CAN'T raise my math score any higher than 40 pts.(630 cr, went from 460 to 500m, 690w)

OK so to all the people on CC who thought that SAT<1500 is a piece of crap, this is your answer to believe that those SAT score are not everything and that admission is a holistic process.

I got into Rose-Hulman inst of tech today with my so "bad" 1380/2400 (the lowest score on the forum probably) and a SAT IIs
French 800
Engl Lit 460
Math 2 600.

My essay was just normal and no special hook.

^congrats on the acceptance :)

I'm at near disaster. My score was way too low, below average for most of the schools I'm interested in. Sure, its not the end of the world, but these schools were my dreams

And it was also lower than my PSAT, so even if I am able to qualify for national merit I might not make it all the way:(

Well, I have a 2370 on the SAT but a middling GPA (for my dream schools).

Honestly, I think I would rather be in some of you guys' situations than mine. My profile probably screams "slacker" to every admissions committee east of the Mississippi ;)

thanks Ren the SAT'er and if you guys have read all of my thread, you should understand what does this acceptance mean to me..I was just feeling like I am in the wrong place with all the platonic score I see on CC....I am not saying that I would rather have a bad score but just that it is not because of that bad you will automatically get rejected. I am just overwhelmed by that news. It will allow me to wait for my High reach more calmly. Good luck to all of you gyus by the way..Flavia01 I am sure you gonna make it, Just weight on the other part of your app...
