You took this fight with hookem from this thread to somebody else's thread - talk about not staying on topic

This thread was ruined as soon as you picked that fight with hookem

you've criticized my "bad attitude" already

i find it hard to believe your a parent based on your maturity level. i may be immature, but im only 16. your the one fighting with a 16 year old on a college forum. i may not be in a position to say this, but grow up.

either way, im done debasing this thread.

You've also seriously violated TOS and I dont expect to see you around for very long.

Ciao foreman....

Internet: serious business

IF WHAT I AM SAYING CAN TEND TO "PEACE"....

MAttsmom, I am not insulting anybody!you need to calm down get relax and talk to me in an intellectual way! Foreman wasn
t trying to be tough with you! He just realize that you had the wrong perception of my situation and was debating into that way! Now it is simple.. If you think I have 0 chance, you can say it whiteout any attempt to discourage. If you have a suggestion about what we should do with this bad score, you are also welcome to say it. Im saying it because I know no one got into this forum to be belittled. We got here to exchange our point of view. If we were in a classroom with a math, physics,philosophy..teacher, I think everything would be clear. If everyone was sure He or she will attend the college he or she wants, the problem wont be occuring. Unfortunately we are not. Thats why we came here, to talk each other in order to gain something, whatever it could be for our process of seeking the best of our educational future. therefore, i will refuse to turn this will upside down and instead, make enemies. It doesn't make sense. I was on Foreman
s side. That is right but the reason why I was there is that He was one of the first to understand me. I am not requesting a blind support, not at all. I know as you certainly do that telling me that YOU WILL GET IN is more likely to be a stupid and non realistic advice. But that is not the only way to answer me. I myself personally made a "big" mistake. The mistake of forget to mention that I was an international student! As a matter of fact, I am wondering what would happen if I was an American teen student with that Low SAT loOl! Maybe It would have gotten worse! Beside, some word like RACISM or whatever did not even have to appear in this thread because I am myself against racism in whatever form it does exist. My thought has been widely denatured. Foreman has been following me for a while now in this forum and noticed how no merciful people can be here. I understand that being in my situation can influence your way of seeing people. I mean If you are really airhead, you can think that people hate you by telling you you have no chance. But do not worry, I can see the difference between realism and satire. That said, I hope everybody who thought that I was wrong in my interpretation will change his or her mind. Otherwise, I really don't know what to say again :)

Holla at you and God bless you!

If you're talking about lazy but smart, that's me. In the last two years of high school I have gotten a higher GPA, but my first two years are killing me. In my sophomore year of high school I got a 75% in history because I failed to turn in am important essay. However, the next year I got a 90% and this year my score is at 92%. Also, last year I got a 91% in Algebra 2 and PreCalc (98% on quizzes and tests and 75% on homework). My GPA is something like a 4.9 or something (it used to be lower) and it is too late to change it.

dko, I wasn't trying to be 'sarcassistic'. I am just saying, that with a CR around 500, you simply will not be able to comprehend efficiently the material in the college of a such level. It is not about having low enough scores not to be competitive, it is about having low enough scores not to be able to cope with the workload. And as I said, in high school you can ask teacher for, say, an extended deadline as you are trying to cope with the language, but that is not the case with the college. I admire your determination to learn the language, but it will take some.

dko: You said you don't have a chance to retake, but you are taking SAT II's? I would suggest you reconsider, and instead retake the SAT I (if at all possible), or try the ACT (some people do better on one test than the other). Especially with you only learning English, a second attempt should raise your score a lot: you know the format of the test now, for one thing, and what is expected. For another, you've had a few more months' practice.

As for all the arguing on this thread... everyone involved should be ashamed. Sarcasm can be appropriate, or it can be downright rude and ugly. Name-calling is never okay, and neither are personal attacks. It is difficult if not impossible to get into Harvard with a 1300/2400 SAT, especially for an international. There are also geniuses who do no work but get 2400's and are accepted to every school on their list. These things may not be fair, but not much about college acceptance is, especially on that level. However, none of this is anything to argue about.

Thank you Alone. It gonna be hard I know but I like challenges and If am admitted to one of my school, I will do ti. Otherwise, hesitating between a year off and keep going with English training and retaking the FAMOUS "SAT" :) or simply go to MONTREAL is actually my big deal!

Yep right Savs. Actually since the deadline of some school I am applying for do require SAT 1 and IIs and the last month I have to got it complete is January. That is why I can retake the SAT I and leave the Subject test. In another hand, the ACT will be administered no sooner than February!

Maybe you should try your hand at the ACT.

I got something like 1740 on the SAT, so that should be pretty low already. But my GPA as far as my 11th grade is alright, around 4.35 weighted. I have enough EC's and my rec letters should be good. Hopefully I will get in BC, BU and other great schools!

Good luck,dko xD

thanks guyss you too ! :) if those colleges accept a february test, I will for sure!

This is really a no-brainer!

Take a year off for intensive English study. This will actualize your chances for admittance; a higher SAT should come naturally if you really took it off of 2 months' exposure to English (which is quite amazing, I must say). More importantly, it will allow you to fully appreciate the opportunities at such a college. I'm not saying you can't take it as a challenge and struggle through 4 years starting off at a huge deficit. But why do that? Why shortchange 4 critical years of your life, when a one-year break will provide clear and powerful advantages?

What you asked earlier, and was not answered, was that no, applying when you're 20 won't hurt your chances because plenty of people take gap years or serve in the army, etc. And even if it does, it won't hurt them nearly as much as applying when your language skills are not ready.

If you do decide to take a year off, you should consider withdrawing your current applications. The reason for this is that I believe they look unfavorably on people who reapply to the same school after a previous rejection. Maybe it's an unfair bias, but it's present in the number of people who take a productive gap year, are accepted into high caliber schools, and yet are still rejected from the ones that didn't take them before they took the gap year.

Good luck to you.

Thanks ee33ee, you right! it is a kind of difficult for me to envisage a year off, the cost of will be too heavy for my parents. I will probably make this decision if I got rejected, unfortunately, according to what you said, it is also risky to do so because of the bad background you left in those college!

1980.
10 points off from a good chance at a full ride (including room and board) at Azusa Pacific University.
10 points!!!

Truthbetold: is there any chance you can retake?? Because 10pts is definitely a fluke... with a 1980, you could easily score a 2000 or so with another go. And a full ride is way worth it!

Since when are scores in the 1800's and 1900's disasters?
