Got 780 MATH 2 760 PHYS
Feeling pretty deflated considering I'm applying to 4 Ivies plus Stanford and Chicago with a 2320 in SAT 1 (one sitting). Do you think these scores will severely diminish my prospects?

What…? Not at all.

Anything over 750 is at the point where it won’t hurt your application. Having those scores won’t necessarily improve your application - it’s just expected for most of the applicants at the schools on your list. Anything less would hurt, but you’re not in that situation.

Your standardized test scores place you in the “acceptable” pool at all of those schools. If you have straight A’s (or something close) and 5’s on multiple AP tests, then you should be in fairly good shape.

The breadth/depth of your extracurricular activities will likely play the deciding factor in your application.

Relax. Celebrate the good scores. Focus on your schoolwork, personal statement/supplemental essays, and filling out college apps.

Sorry if I sounded too whiny; guess the app process has me pushing myself too hard on alot of things. i think it’s true that SAT scores don’t necessarily make your app but they can break it. I was just hyper ventilating over Physics because with its threshold its easier to score 800 and over Math 2 because alot of people I know have gotten 800 in it.

Hopefully my ECA’s (national debater) and Head Boy and above average grades will compensate for this.

YEAH WHINY considering I wanted at least a 2000 on my SAT and did not even reach that!
My overall resume is alright except the standardized tests and maybe the essays…

You’ll be fine.

I’m sorry to sound harsh, but did you seriously just ***** about a 2320? What is wrong with people on this site?

klaze2,
you take them seriously? :D

No man about the SAT 2. Think intuitively would you…

Yeah those scores are weak, and no doubt you’re a smart kid since you got 2320 on SAT. I would retake. I only got 2000 on my SAT, and got 800 in both Math II and Chem
