@fallenchemist I whole heartedly agree with what you stated. And although I believe it to be “silly” it is a necessary rule/policy to have. But I think that digresses from the current subject matter of what the post and the other comments were stating.
I am not sure how something can be silly and necessary in this kind of situation, but yes, the focus is on helping the OP. And to that extent I think it is all relevant because how he behaves, what kind of responsibility he takes for all the citations, is no doubt a key factor in the outcome. Hopefully he is truly convinced of the correctness of what has been said and therefore can be convincing in his apology without having to act. Unless he is so convinced he has done nothing wrong that he will just take that tack. I hope that isn’t the case.

Agreed. Avoiding getting written up is not hard.
Why? He got written up six times. Somewhere between 1 and 3, he should have realized he needed to stop doing whatever he was doing.
I think the point that a number of adults on this thread have is this:
At some point at a disciplinary hearing, you’ll be asked how you managed to get written up six times.
If your response is along the lines of your first post, it’s not going to be pretty. That first post implies a real disreguard for the policies of the school, and for the rights of others… and in the case of booze and pot, for the law. If the write ups were all that minor, you wouldn’t have been written up. Each one represents a choice you made to ignore the rules that have been set up for everyone to follow-- even you.
So you’ll want to put some real thought into how you present yourself at that hearing.
And, probably more important, you’ll want to put some real thought into how you respond to the rules and your respect for those rules. Without that thought process, it will only be a matter of time before another “minor” write up comes up. At some point, the school is going to decide that you’re too much of a liability.
Six write-ups in a college career is a lot. Six in ONE SEMESTER is a real problem.
Taking a lounge chair that is meant for everybody and keeping it in your room is called stealing. This behavior is very entitled and shows a total disregard towards everybody else living in the dorm. Then on top of this there are multiple violations of substance abuse? One violation is bad enough; multiple violations show even more disregard for the rules and the law, and displays entitlement and the sense that rules do not apply to you.
You need to think very carefully about your behavior moving forward, and you need to think about how you will present yourself at the meeting. Many schools send you home for one semester after being written up 3 times, and then you attend a hearing before being permitted back in. I am shocked that after 6 write ups, several of which were for alcohol and marijuana, you are still there. You have an opportunity to attend a great school that many can’t afford- do not blow it.

Look, it’s not difficult to see what is going on. These are all classic signs of an addiction problem. Take a semester off, go to rehab, get healthy, then come back and kick butt in college and in life. No one likes the behavior of those with an addiction problem. People respect those who get help and everyone loves a redemption story. Make some good choices and good luck.
