<p>It depends on what kind. Alcohol violations are fine, cheating isn’t.</p>

<p>You have to be in “good (academic) standing” to transfer to most schools, so I’d say it would hurt you a lot if you’re still on probation. Some schools say good standing, and some say good academic standing.</p>
