Discontinued?

My major is Biochemistry and spring quarter, I unfortunately failed Math 9B (the first class I failed) and automatically was placed on academic probation. I re-took it over summer at UCR and received an A. Now when I check GROWL, I don't receive the probation notice and my GPA of that quarter is 2.0. But a few days ago, I received an email from my counselor that I was discontinued from my major because my quarterly GPA was below 2.0. I am now technically Undeclared but still when I check GROWL, it shows I am a Biochemistry Major. I was also supposed to receive an email from my new adviser but I have not gotten anything. Is it safe to go talk to my Biochemistry adviser about this? I was planning to attend her drop-in time on Tuesday since she did not reply to my email. And now that I'm in good standing(2.5 GPA and going to raise it) and meet all Biochemistry requirements, can I re-enter the major or do I have to wait till the end of quarter? Or is it not possible and I have to pick something else?
I am just asking because I want to get a general idea of what to expect when I walk into her office. I am really confused and tried reading all about it but there is only so much written on the website. And I'm trying to finish this business because I already have two midterms next week and my hair is already falling out because of them. Thank you so much for the help!
