Where is a moderator when you need one? Can we go back to helping the present and future mids? Isn't this what the forum is all about?

Little piggy-- so you are on the side of “she knew!” There are just as many that will make the opposite case – that she “did not know” and “could not have known.” So be it.

"Scourge of even God." Don't flatter yourself in assuming you know what my relationship is with God, or that your comment is anything but what it is- degrading, rude and obnoxious.

For someone requesting to "keep the mids out of it" you, once again, set a fine example. But since you insist on doing such, may your "best wishes" return to you threefold.

Keep slinging the mud little piglet. The only person you are hurting is yourself. And that ain't a mud hole you are rolling around in- it's looking more and more like quicksand. And hate to tell you, but you are playing in that mud hole by yourself, and no one is coming to rescue your bacon.

As for me, I have wasted enough time.
Since you suggested keeping our differences in private, I suggest you do just that. Better yet, keep your nasty remarks to yourself- frankly this meddling mom is sick and tired of the rantings. I have bigger fish to fry, and frankly, you are starting to bore me.

And while I am no "mommy dearest," I have been BLESSED to be a MOTHER until I the minute I take my last breath. But how thoughtful of you to DISS on mothers on the very day that another mother is burying not her first, but her second son.

Shame on you. Your utter thoughtlessness is OUTRAGEOUS. Spell that.

It is, and thank you for that reminder. Time to blow the little pigs house down.

***** we now return you to our regular programing******

It's time to let this thread die. Some of the parents and alumni now have a reputation that precedes them in the other forums. As evidence, I present the following post from the USMA forum:

[quote="p-piper, post:3, topic:380154"]
I do not think any West Point parent is interested in participating in the hysterical lunacy currently found on the Naval Academy forum. Life is not perfect at West Point. However, the imperfections are not meant to be a topic of discussion on a public forum. Our cadets deal with problems through the chain of command. Life can be tough at West Point...but it is not for the parents to second guess the policies of the administration. The Cadets, like Midshipmen, are members of the military. Our children are being trained as soldiers while receiving a first rate education. The world they must deal with as officers upon graduation is brutal and dangerous. The rigors they face now will help them cope with and adjust to the life they soon face in the military. Isn't that the purpose of each of the Academies?

USNA1985 started this thread and she also provided a decent assessment of how officer candidates (i.e., midshipmen) / gentlemen should handle their indignation with the current changes at USNA. In short, everyone needs to suck it up and move on.

I didn't know that they had made you a moderator.

Bumping up messages for the he** of it just to bury one you think ought to die is uncalled for. I personally do not want to wade through older threads that have died just because you put bump on it. All threads will end when the participants no longer feel that there is any validity left in the discussion. Please do not waste my time by bumping or posting on sorts of thing just so you can have your agenda.

All messages have an option to "Report Problem Post".

If any members feel that a message is a problem, clicking this button will send it to the moderators, who will review the offending member's posting history and their account. Please see the TOS guidelines below when deciding whether a posts is violating TOS:

FROM THE TERMS OF SERVICE (TOS) GUIDELINES:

Courtesy. At College Confidential, we expect discussion to be courteous even when disagreement may be vigorous. When writing your messages, please use the same courtesy that you would show when speaking face-to-face with someone. Flames, insults, and personal attacks will not be tolerated. It's fine to disagree with opinions, ideas, and facts, but always with respect for the other person. Also, note that messages express the thoughts of the writers, not the community, its owners, staff, or moderators. Visitors who post discourteous messages will be warned; repeat offenders will lose posting rights.

General Behavior. Our forum is expected to be a friendly and welcoming place, and one in which members can post without their motives, intelligence, or other personal characteristics being questioned by others. Members who post in a manner that makes other members unwelcome or uncomfortable, or who conduct themselves in a manner in any way detrimental to the College Confidential community, will lose posting privileges.

NativeTexan he wants to do the bump dance with you. Thats all he has left to say. Sad isn't he.

With all due respects, Great American bumped the messages in an attempt to put an end to this thread that seemed to have gotten out of control. I certainly would be embarrased for a potential midshipmen candiate to read it. Perhaps he shouldn't have bumped it since he isn't the moderator, but I don't think he deserves these comments. GA does a great service to this board posting volumes of factual data. Hopefully you have simply confused him with some other posters on this thread.

The only reason I check this thread is to see if there is actually any "changes at USNA" as the thread reads.

It's hard to believe that previous posts have been by adults. Great role models for your children, hopefully they're more mature than their parents.

I agree.....people should at least TRY to act like adults when posting here.

My favorite part of that, people should read and give it some thought:

Where we seem to get off in the weeds is when someone consistently makes mean-spirited remarks or tries to insult others who post opinions that happen to be different from there own. State your opinion, respect the opinions of others and then move on........

which has been my message- CONSISTANTLY-and posted on this particular thread no less than half a dozen times.

Are you a "do as I say and not as I do" mom? just wondering.

btw: a whistle pig is not a pig at all. It is a ground hog (commonly called woodchuck's in some parts)

I spoke to my son today. Said that at least for him the food situation had improved (quantity).

workout facilities are still jammed up.

But life seemed ok except for a horrible cold. I feel better.

justamom-

no- I walk the talk. Always have, always will.
What I will not do is tolerate anything I do not deserve.
And I do not take the first serve. Shoot across my bow and you will gain the favor of a response.
Simple really.

I have been thanked for being a "voice of reason" on this forum, on many occassions, from many posters, including this topic. Think what you will.

I did not know whistle pig was the name of a ground hog.
It is also the name of a gun from what I have been told.
With all due respect, I will keep to my own defination.

OM- glad to hear that. With each day I keep hoping it improves for everyone. Sadly, had a few moms PM me about the frozen sandwiches. May I ask- is your son in Dalghren or Kings Hall? I am wondering if the situation is limited to one location or spread to both.
ps... feel better....chicken soup- good for the body and the soul! ;)

I talked to my plebe friend yesterday, and he said the last 3-4 meals have been much better(larger) than usual.

Good.
I think the very fact that the supe visited to see things for himself will go a long way in getting things corrected. From what I have heard, he was not happy with what he saw.

Some parents PM'd that issues are still occurring, as recently as this morning. Lets hope the "improvements" your son is seeing reaches them all. It is my understanding the plebes are still being fed "first and foremost." Congrats and thank you to the firsties who stepped it up.

Mine did not get breakfast this morning. Many sides to the same story, but one that has to be fixed one way or another and does seem that it may have gotten the attention it needs.

So db - go GT beat ND!

and of course as the FB season officially gets underway for Navy
I just have to do it
Can't be helped...

GO NAVY Beat TEMPLE! (And Army too)

I don't know profmon, everyone is really pumped here, and you can't really win if you can hear yourself think.
I'll make sure the mids get fed when they come up here to get beat in November though.

LOL!
Good for you danbrenn!
they may be a bit hungry right now, but you can bet they will be gnarly goats by the time you play them! ;)

(hopefully packing a bit more noise!!!) :(

One mid considered herself 'lucky' to be on a chit this week so she didn't have to eat in the mess hall, i.e., she could recuperate better without eating navy fare. That's pretty sad. However, today she said the fish smelled "disgusting," but the salad and string cheese were pretty good. (We have an inside joke about someone we know who got hepatitis from tainted fish tacos--hence, we refer to fish tacos as 'killer tacos.') I wonder how many mids thought they had the flu, when it actually was food poisoning.
