Final grade update and I’m really surprised, ended up getting an A in my English class that I was sure was going to be a struggle to pull off. Final grades look like this:

Organic Chemistry I: A
Molecular Bio and Genetics: A
History of Modern Art: A
English Comp and Literary Analy: A (I ended up getting As on my last 3 papers including a 96 on the final and a 98.6 on the big research paper. I have no idea how I did it, but I swear it felt like his grading became more lenient as the class went on as I’m sure my writing didn’t improve to such a dramatic extent. Maybe he was trying to weed out people at the beginning?)

All in all, this was probably the most difficult semester I’ve had in CC, but by far the best. My GPA after Fall goes up to 3.67, which makes me feel pretty good about my chances of getting into any of the UCs (save Berkeley). Woohoo!!!

grumbles Stupid genetics class. I don’t even know why I took the blasted course.

Well, the grade for it isn’t out it, but I know that it’s going to look pretty bad on my transcript. Class average for the first exam was a 56 and the professor isn’t curving *****

Also… I would not wish that course load on my worst enemy. I was very unhappy quite often last semester. I also procrastinated a LOT (contributing to my unhappiness, lol).

Now it’s time to lose some brain cells! Bring on the boozy egg nog.

Calc 3 - A
Calc based Physics:Mechanics Lec and Lab - A
Gen Chem 2 Lec and Lab - A
Linear Algebra - A

I’m applying from OOS but graduated high school and lived in cali my whole life except the 2 years in a cc and made note of it in my application in additional comments. I’m applying to UCSD, UCSB, UCLA, and UCB as a physics major and am really hoping for Berkeley. Are my chances good?
I have a 4.0, comm service, and am a math/physics tutor at my school.

@Der3k7: Shiet those are some nice courses. Linear’s usually a killer for my classmates, but it’s not required in my major, although I really do want to take it eventually. For an OOS, your credentials are similar to mine (since I’m an OOS too). We’ll be picked last, though. Shame.

@asphyxiac: Interesting. I also use Tumblr to find pictures of models in clothing that I’d like to draw. It’s a shame that a lot of them are tailor-made.

Still waiting on genetics…the professor isn’t curving…ugh

Thanks, yeah I admit linear algebra took a bit of getting used to, it is quite different. But I like the theoretical and proof, solid understanding side of mathematics as opposed to just calculation type stuff.
