Hi, I am currently a Stony Brook student, and am about to be dismissed from the school for my G.P.A. I plan to go to Suffolk Community College to get an associates. Would it still be possible for me to apply to the joint admission between the two colleges? If not, how would I go about getting back into Stony Brook? If I am able to get back into Stony Brook, I know my previous GPA would still be on record, but would GPA be reset starting at that point? Thank you.

You would NOT be eligible for the joint admissions program. You don’t need to reapply through the regular application process once you’ve started taking classes here, which is what the joint app does… you need to get your grades up, then contact the registrar to apply for reinstatement once you’ve done that.

And no, your GPA would not be reset; your record stays with you, and will appear on your transcript here in perpetuity. Your new Stony Brook grades would be factored in with the old ones.
