distance between schools? Need help with logistics for visit

My junior ds and I are coming to visit Pomona, CMC, and Harvey Mudd. Pomona is the only one of the three that will interview him this early in his junior year. That is scheduled for a Friday at 9:00. We plan to do a tour, info session, and a class visit at Pomona on Thursday. He also has a session scheduled with a music faculty member at Pomona on Friday at 4:00. We are visiting Mudd on Wednesday afternoon, and we would like to see CMC on Friday. If the afternoon tour ends at 3:30 at CMC, does this give us enough time to get to the music building at Pomona by 4:00? I know the schools are relatively close to each other, but I don't know if this is too tight or not. I suppose we could just make Friday "Pomona Day" and do a tour and info session then, but my understanding is there aren't many classes on Fridays. I also feel like he will be better prepared for his interview if he has done those things at Pomona on Thursday.

TIA.

As long as the tour ends on time, you should have no problem. I would scope out where the 4:00 music session is ahead of time so you know exactly where you are going. The campuses have a very small town atmosphere, and everyone is very helpful, so you should not have trouble finding everything. Downtown Claremont is a very pretty small town with some nice little shops and good restaurants, so be sure to look around a little. Have a wonderful time!

^thank you! I suppose we could always sort of sneak out of the tour early if we had to. I always overthink these things!

Here’s a link to a map of all the colleges. I found it helpful when we were planning our trip. We walk fast, and it wouldn’t take us more than 15 minutes to get from CMC admissions bldg to the middle of Pomona campus. Bldg 44 is Thatcher Music Bldg, if that is where you are going.

I agree with the others. Plus, unless there is a mobility problem or he’s carrying his tuba, it would probably be faster to walk than to wander around in the car trying to find the valid parking spaces.

Yes, we found that we could walk all the way across the campuses from end to end in 15 minutes when we visited. You will be fine. Good luck!

Great! Thanks to all of you!

And a special thanks for the map!
