Hey everyone,

I was just wondering, in total, how many courses do students do to fulfill all the distribution requirements without using AP/IB Credit?

Thanks :)

12

2 science
2 math
2 lit/arts
2 history
2 ethics
2 polisci/econ

You can use AP cred for 2 of the 12 (but not 2 in the same area). AP Calc placement may allow you to take only 1 math class. Major/Minor classes will likely knock out 1-2 of the categories, leaving you to go out of your way to take maybe 5 courses.

ALso, unless it’s changed recently, you may not use AP credits for either of the two science distros, although I never understood why.

I do not believe that is correct currently, WCASParent.

^^Glad to hear it.
Could it be that you just can’t use a 5 on the Bio AP for a distro credit?

Yes. It keeps changing, but at least for the most recent year bio was not accepted as a distro. It does let you place out of Bio though.
