A lot of what in have been hearing when searching for college info relates to quality over quantity when it comes to ECs and interests, because if you have a lot of such that you have been in for only a short amount of time it looks like you are doing it only for colleges as opposed to passion ect. This is worrying to me, because I have interests in many topics and my ECs may not seem super cohesive but I'm am definitely doing them because I want to not because of college. what is your take on that? Also, I have been signing for new things lately because they interest me and I worry that because I am a junior it'll also look like I am getting involved just for college. Thanks.

There are lots of people in your boat. You cannot combat the suspicions of AOs; they are what they are. If you enjoy a lot of different activities, do a lot of different activities because you enjoy them. Not everything in your life has to be geared to look good on your college application. Remember to enjoy life while you’re busy being successful.

You’ll be fine as long as you are honest about what you’ve done and why. Resume padding involves more than just lots of things. It really has to do with inflating their importance. Adcoms can smell that a mile away.
