i am a freshman in mews. i havent noticed a lot of diversity. my brother went here and he said there was a lot of diversity in mews. what's the deal? have things changed?

really? you’re looking for “diversity” in your dorm?

Mews hall in particular? Freshman rooms for non-program houses are supposed to be determined randomly, so you should probably get a decent sampling of students. It would be silly to assert that any single dorm will be more “diverse” than others. I think there’s a lot of diversity at Cornell, compared to other schools at least.

You have to remember that with houses like McLLU, UJAMAA, and the Latino house (I don’t remember the names of all of them or their acronyms) that a lot of minorities will go to those houses, and when they’re a minority in the first place and congregate in one place, it can lead the other dorms to have a more homogenous population.
