Do a lot of people who get deferred eventually get in?

Do a lot of people who get deferred eventually get in? I'm really worried.

Besides for my SAT score, everything on my application seemed okay.

School: GA High school
Gender: Female
Rank: 15/730
GPA Unweighted: 3.92
GPA Weighted: 4.45
APs: 12 (Human Geog, World History, US History, Chem, Physics B, Physics C, Biology, Calc BC, Govt, Econ, English Lit, English Comp) The rest were honors/gifted classes.
SAT: 1880 (650 W, 630 M, 600 CR) << horrible
Essay: Everyone who read it thought it was pretty good.
Extracurriculars: Library Volunteer for two summers, orchestra, Mu Alpha Theta, NHS, Science NHS, lots of tutoring

I'm scared to death that I won't get in because of my SAT score. I can't even take it again because December is the last date they will accept. Do people with worse stats than me apply?

Your SAT is a little low but I would say you will get in. It is important to keep in mind that this year tech had 18% more early applicants than last year so the early admissions pool was much more selective than in the past. However, Tech has a high admittance rate and your high GPA, course rigor, and EC's should make up for the slightly low SAT. I wouldn't call your SAT "horrible" and like I said I feel confident you WILL be accepted. If I were you I wouldn't be worried.

I'm still freaking out, but thank you so much InPursuit. Congrats to you as well.

I'd be pretty surprised if you didn't get in...you have great stats, much better than mine were (even sat).

hey they might offer you the summer session.

Your reading and writing are in GT's mid 50%, while your math is just below. I wouldn't say that is "horrible". I actually think you're fine. Don't worry about deferral. You'll receive full consideration in round 3, and I don't think you'll have any problems then.

Thanks for the reassurances..I can't tell you how much I appreciate it!
