Do admission decisions only come through mail?

My friend is on a foreign exchange program in Germany and received an email about his acceptance today.

My friends from Malaysia and Taiwan got emails about their acceptances. They’re waiting for snail mail now.

I heard from a family member that they did online decisions two years ago?

I think its pretty nice that they send out physical mail though. It’s a lot more emotional to get something you can rip open and throw up in the air in joy.

So far all my acceptances have been online. UIUC’s was the most underwhelming. you refresh the page and this little box pops up that says “congratulations. next steps.” No welcome mail, no welcome video, nothing.

It’s always been online decisions for international students, snail mail for domestic students. There were tricks to find out if you were accepted two+ years ago, but those don’t work anymore.

The reason they send decisions by email first for international students is in case the letters don’t get to the students by April 1st. That way at least the international students have a month to decide on which college to attend.

I’m from Taiwan and I’m so anxious about the result.

ACCEPTED…just got the “big envelope” in the regular US mail. applied for honors…no info about it in the letter. live in silicon valley CA

grats bystander!

honors mail comes a month or so later in a white envelope according to older students.

Hope I can get the decision soon! Since people in Taiwan have gotten their decisions, then I guess people in Hong Kong should get an email soon? Haha.

Good luck to all those waiting and Congrats to those accepted!

I’m from taiwan and i havent received my decision yet…

since you’re talking about Taiwan and Hong Kong… people from Indonesia should an email soon too? :p

Have any more international students gotten their emails yet?
