International students

Will they send out the result via emails for international students on weekends? Or only weekdays?

I emailed the Associate Director of International Student Services/International Admissions and I got this back:

"The University of Washington freshman notification period for mailing admissions decisions is March 15 to March 31. Although decisions have started to go out, not all decisions have been finalized, and not all decision letters have been sent. We will mail the remaining admissions decisions as soon as possible and no later than March 31st.

All decisions are sent via postal mail, so please allow time for overseas delivery. The mail should be received within 7-10 days once it has been sent but keep in mind that all decisions have not been made yet.

Our staff cannot give admissions decisions over the phone.

We know the wait is a long one, and we thank you for your patience."

But I read some posts from other people saying that international kids in past years have received emails, and that even some international kids now have received emails.

So I really don’t know… can anyone verify?? If they do email, it could be on any day because it seems like a chunk of people are receiving acceptances everyday

Everyone gets postal mail.

International students will receive an email first, in case snail mail does not reach them overseas until after April 1.

Look at the top right hand corner, and put your mouse on “Apply now: i”, so I think international student will get an email first just like what speedsolver said.

Sigh I’m so confused though, cuz the thing is, I didn’t apply to UW as an international student since I’m a U.S. citizen/Washington resident… I’ve only been living overseas for about 4 years because of my dad’s job, so I don’t know if I count as an international student. Idk about placid0830, but that’s my situation.

The only thing we can do now is wait, either for an email or letter haha.

sophaloph: You’ correctly applied as a citizen/resident, but you may receive an email anyway because of where you’re located. Let us know what happens!

Did any international student receive an acceptance yet?

Yes. There were some posts in another thread.
