Do admissions look at your GPA per grade or cumulatively?

Also is it true that your junior year GPA is the most important?

I would say they look first at your performance in rigorous classes (AP, honors, college credit, etc). Those tend to take place Jr and Sr year, but not always.

They’ll look more at your transcript than the gpa itself so that means they’ll look at the individual grades in each of your classes with a special focus on your preformance junior year (it is true that this year is the most important from an academic standpoint). Of course, it will be interpreted in the context of your school (so courses offered, class rank will all be factored into the analysis).

What dblazer said: transcript, not GPA.
