Would a selective university choose another person over me if I got a B in Gym class? Would they use this as some sort of tiebreaker? Gym doesn’t count towards my GPA but it shows up on my transcript.
Thanks.

Probably won’t make a big difference…gym counts towards my GPA and brings my weighted down so I’m kind of mad, but since I have an A+ in the class it’s carrying my unweighted up to a 4.0 lol
A B in gym is no issue.
Many selective schools recalculate your GPA using “core academic” classes. Gym is not considered a core academic class.
Doesn’t make a difference. Schools recalculate your GPA using their own system
They might wonder about a D even if it isn’t part of a gpa but they won’t care about a B.
They will wonder about a D even if it isn’t part of a gpa. Because really, how can you get a D in gym if you follow the rules and make even the slightest of effort?
No.
Whether gym is part of your HS GPA is irrelevant. Whether a college recalculates GPA is irrelevant. A B in any subject will not be the reason one does not get into a selective university.
Weighting only matters for HS, and since it’s likely that every student at that HS has to take gym, everyone will take the GPA hit. Admissions, if they consider weighted grades, will weight to their own standards anyway.
