My grades for this year were 4 B's and 7 A's. The B's were in Biology, Gym both semesters, and Journalism 1. Do you think this will greatly hurt my chances?

No gym usually doesn't count when schools calculate your gpa. It should be considered as a pass/fail course. I think that includes health too.

At my school it is calculated into the GPA, and is for so little credit that even if you receive an A it will bring you down. When a school looks at that will they understand or will they be like No, she got a B in gym and her GPA's lower because of it?

The university doesn't care how your school calculates GPA; they'll calculate it their own way. They include only the five core areas: English, math, history, science, language.

yea, but the thing is that it affects your GPa.

same exact thing happened to me. I was absent a lot and got Bs in both semesters for PE. Lowered my GPA and class rank.
