I took algebra 1 and geometry in middle school which both appear on my high school transcript. Would colleges calculate this into your gpa for admissions? I'm planning to apply for a uc btw

Uc’s only use 10th and 11th grade classes when calculating gpa so i guess not. right? answered my own question lol

^^ For UC’s yes. However, other colleges use your complete transcript from high school, and if your HS includes those middle school grades as part of your GPA, then other colleges will as well.

Colleges generally use grades from freshman year forward. You should also check how your high school will report those courses on your transcript sent to colleges as many will simply provide those courses without grades to show you completed and passed them and thus have completed those high school level courses for the purpose of meeting any course requirements for college admission.

^^ FWIW: My daughter had the same issue. A math and Spanish class she took in 8th grade appeared on her high school transcript, as both classes were consider to be advanced honors (basically what 9th graders would normally take). Both her 8th grade classes appeared on her high school transcript and the grades were averaged into her GPA that were sent to colleges. So, check with your GC to see how your HS handles those courses.

For me they counted as part of my gpa. You answered your own question though.
