Interesting question. I do not know the answer. Made me think of pre-med students who take Organic Chemistry (which probably could not be taught 100% online) at a school other than their own in order to benefit from easier grading.
I suspect that some schools may not accept certain courses from an online source. Not sure, but maybe required core courses at Columbia would be required to be taken at Columbia.
But, broadly speaking, online courses are going to be a significant part of the future in higher education so this is a timely topic.
I was referring ing to the context in which you are applying to a college mentioning an online course you did in high school but does that affect your chance of getting into other universities if the online course is from a specific university.
In that case, no an online course will not affect one’s chances for admission.
However, there may be an issue as to whether or not you can receive college credit for such a course.
My alma mater has been, and will do again this summer. How effective it is is a different question. Regardless, not an applicable analogy for the OP.
Mercifully, AOs are not middle-schoolers.They aren’t worried about who you sat with at lunch.
