Do colleges look down upon online college credit courses. Do they prefer university summer classes?

Hey guys

So as many of us know, there are many community colleges and universities that offer college credit for high school students when their courses are taken over the summer. However, do colleges look down upon courses that are taken online over the summer rather than in person? The online programs I am looking at to achieve college credit are in the links below. Should I use the online courses for credit, or should I just take community college courses over the summer for credit to strengthen my application? Thanks!

“Look down?” Who cares if they look down or up or straight on? The fact of the matter is that schools have their own rules on what courses they’ll accept for credit for what. That and whether the courses adequately prepare you as prerequisite for future courses are all that matter.

It depends. For pre-meds, I know that the medical schools look at the organic chemistry course as a harbinger of how a student might perform in med school. So they don’t like it if organic chem is done online, or even over the summer.

Probably similar issues for students going into other graduate courses of study as well.
