Do colleges look at high-school credit courses taken in middle school?

I'm concerned about some math courses (Algebra I, II, and Geometry) that I took in middle school. These are for high school credit and show up on my transcript, but since I didn't study at all in middle school, I got B's in every semester of every class except one: Algebra II's first semester, in which I got a C.
Will colleges look at these? Or will they focus on my courses taken in high school?

Grades in middle school don’t really matter because you took these as prerequisites for high school math. If you took Spanish or French in middle school, it would probably be similar.

depends on your school.

They will understand that you were in middle school. They will be looking at the math you took while in high school.

If it is a high school class, where you got high school credit, there is a good chance it is on your transcript. Perhaps they won’t penalize you much. But they will see it.

How does it appeared on your transcript? For my D, the HS level classes taken in middle school are shown on the transcript with credit but no grades. Basically, she earned the credit while the grades would not be used for GPA calculation. It is a kind of like the AP credit transferred into college. Check if that is the case for you.

As long as you did well in the higher level classes that you took in high school, it probably won’t matter.

The high school classes I took in middle school appeared on my transcript along with my grade for the class and NY Regents score. Colleges will see you were in middle school at the time so they probably won’t put as much weight on those as on the upper-level courses. As long as you have an upward trend you should be fine.

It could negatively impact your class rank which is important for highly selective schools.

May I presume that you took higher-level Math classes in high school? You obviously were a gifted student if you were eligible to take Geometry and Algebra II in middle school. Do you have subsequent grades and test scores to show this? If so, I can’t imagine any college, anywhere, caring more about your middle-school grades than your high school ones. I also can’t imagine them turning down someone who was doing uncommonly advanced work in favor of a marginally higher GPA in lower-level classes. If your only academic weaknesses date back to middle school, then you are in excellent shape.
