If you take high school credit courses in middle school are colleges even going to care? I took three high school courses in middle school and of course I slacked off in one of my courses, I got an 89 (B- in my county) in geometry. Yeah, I know thats an easy class but I was younger and really at the time I was lazy and just didnt pay attention. My question is: Are colleges even going to look at that one grade from 8th grade? I know it will be factored into my official GPA but will colleges note that I took the class in middle school, and therefore cast it off? THANKS!

If's it on your high school transcript they will see it but I doubt that they will care that much.

At my school, the high school classes we took in middle school are on our transcripts. We're allowed to have them removed, though, and retake the class. Ask your school their policy. I'm sure each school district/school has a different system. Don't fret about the 89. Colleges will appreciate that you took a high school class at an early age. I think so, anyway.

What's next...AP classes in kindergarten?

What's next...AP classes in kindergarten?

Princeton Review already runs a class for 3rd graders preparing for the SATs.

Stanford looks at grades starting in 10th grade.
AP classes and test scores in middle school are not that rare, especially math.

I Took math A(i dont know what the equivelant is to) from the middle of 7th to end of 8th(My old school ahead by a year in math but the do it so they can spread out the time b4 they take the test so they can prepare more!)

off topic...an 89 is a B-???? Why? here a B- is 80%-83%

Math A (I'm assuming you're from New York?), is equivalent to most 8th/9th grade math classes in other states.

Do you think negatively of people who choose to take difficult classes earlier on? I was always unhappy and bored with my school experience until I finally went to a school that allowed me to take more advanced/challenging courses. I suppose today it is mostly motivated by people who want nothing more than to get into the "best" school. Oh, well.

There are a lot of grade conversion charts on the net, because school policy is not consistent across the county...

I was wondering this as well...

I got a D and a C (or 2?) in my HS classes I took in 8th grade, but 9-11th so far have been all As and Bs.

Do those stupid grade classes I took in 8th get factored into my GPA? Do colleges really care that I did bad in 8th grade if my 9th-11th grade GPA rose to 89-90% (UW) overall?
