Do colleges look at your grades in respect to your major?

I'm a senior in high school as I'm writing this. I've applied to some schools such as FSU and UF as a Political Science major because I love to write and I've gotten 5s on my AP English and AP Literature exams. My concern here is that my math grades (and math sat scores) haven't been too good, but I would like to apply as a Computer Science major to those school as I see myself delving into that career later on.
Do the colleges look at your math grades, sat scores, etc. and take in to consideration which major I chose on my application? I'm scared that if I choose Computer Science instead of Political Science (or anything not-math related), they'll deny my admission because of my poor math grades.

Thanks to all who can help me out here.

The answer is generally that when the chosen major is engineering, science or math – and computer science is included in that group – the courses you have taken in math and science and grades in them and your math section score on SAT are very important and more important than others. Also note that you will find on a college’s site and elsewhere published middle 50% ranges from the prior year for test score and class rank of enrolled freshman for a university, and that includes UF and FSU. The middle 50% range for majors like engineering and computer science are usually higher for universities than what those published figures for the university as a whole tell you and that would likely be true for both UF and FSU.
