Do colleges recalculate GPA?

I was wondering since every school gives points in a different way. So it's easier to get an 4.0 at some schools and not at others. More specifically I'm concerned about Texas schools such as Rice.

Rice is certainly well versed in discerning vital info from many people’s transcripts. Don’t worry – you’ll get you full day in court with Rice admissions.

Your question isn’t entirely lucid, however, many universities index GPAs to “equalize” more and less demanding secondary schools’ results. I’d speculate that Rice does so. Does that answer your question?

There is nothing to concern yourself about. They are going to do what they are going to do, they are going to do it to everyone, and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. It is part of the process, so why worry?

Yes, thank you everyone! My school has a 6 point scale and does it percentage wise. Everyone else seems to have a 4 point scale that does it letter grade wise
