Do colleges see any of your senior year grades for early decision applications?

Hi everyone, assuming that I can get up my ACT score in September, I will likely apply early decision to University of Richmond. I'm wondering what colleges will see from your senior year.
I know that they will obviously see your schedule. I'm wondering because I hope a strong start to my senior year would be a testimonial to my rising GPA.
My school operates with 2 quarters per semester, and the first quarter would be over before November 15 (U of R's early decision deadline). Would my first quarter, or any of my senior year grades be on my transcript yet?

That’s something you’d have to ask your school. You can send your transcript in a tad late to U of R, as long as it is still timely, but you’d have to ask your school if the first quarter would be included on your transcript if they sent the transcript, say on Nov 15.

Quarter grades are not reported on transcripts. I can’t speak for UofR, but I know that while quarter grades are reviewed if sent by applicants, W&M neither recommends nor requires that ED applicants send them. First semester grades are sent after a decision has been made for the ED pool, so they are not used (at W&M) to decide whether or not to accept/defer/reject an ED applicant.

@ribbonroad224‌ see, this is why is say it you need to ask your school. At my school quarters don’t appear, but they do show 7th semester grades. The transcript otherwise only has final grades. In addition, U of R has first quarter grades listed on their requirements page for ED I, which I believe can just be your report card (i didn’t apply ED).

@Andyhunt10‌ have you considered applying to U of R under ED II, if this is of concern ? The application is due by the same date as the regular decision, but is binding. You hear back in february, approx 1 month after due date. This would allow the 7th semester grades to be considered I believe. And I still recommend applying by the Richmond Scholars deadline, which is December 1st this year, you can just select ED II when you submit it. I have noticed you have quite a few questions you’ve posted regarding U of R- feel free to PM me about it

At our HS they sent i the first quarter grades for ED applicants. I think that is pretty standard. But at others said, it would make sense to check with your guidance counselor to be certain.

@guineagirl96 Yes I have taken into consideration ED II, but if I was waiting to apply till then I would most likely just apply regular decision.

Even if your school doesn’t send then, it’s common practice for many ED schools to ask for midterm grades, which your GC then provides.
