Do Colleges See Community College Courses Taken in Summer, Not Required by School?

I am planning to take a community college class for the summer because I am passionate about that field; taking the class is like an extracirricular for me. I am not a Running Start student and I am financing this class myself; I am not taking it as a class to fulfill high school requirements. Will my grade in that class be seen by colleges?

When you apply to college, you’re required to submit all your transcripts, including college courses taken during the summer.

Would I report the class as an extracirricular?

As other info, or ask if your HS can put it on your HS transcript.

Based on your other thread, consider just auditing.

If you take the class you should be able to list it on the application as a college class you took and send in the transcript.

IMO, the diff here is this is a side interest, not for hs, not for advanced credit when in college- and not part of your major. You’re not doing this to show academic firepower and be reviewed for academic “stretch.” Maybe you can just audit and skip the grade and transcript fuss.

You should talk to the registrar office. Credits at CC may be transferred depending on the school policy. Some students may take classes at CC after submitting college application and even after enrollment. The may procedure would apply in that case.
