I want to take a hard class in the senior year to show that im rly passionate in that subject area, but because its such a hard semester class, it is only open during second semester of senior year.
im pretty sure that colleges wont see my grades for those courses (unless i fall off the cliff and they rescind me),
but im more interested in whether or not they see what i have registered for my last school year.
thanks.
Was it on your schedule when you applied to schools? One of my kids received an acceptance from a national university that stated directly that it it would consider a change in senior-year schedule a material change in the application, making the acceptance subject to review. It seems like taking a more challenging class that was of interest would be a plus though. And only a relatively significant drop in grades would draw scrutiny. If concerned, you might just want to double-check with your top choices to see what their policies are. I’m sure policies and attitudes vary by school, and your schools are the relevant ones. Good luck!
I think it depends on when you submit your transcript
Colleges do see your second semester senior grades. Any acceptance you get will contingent on continuing your level of work, no behavioral issues, graduating etc. The high school sends a final transcript to the college you will be attending. The general rule on CC is to stay away from D’s, F’s and felonies (but my kids were sure to keep their grades in the B range or better to avoid any issues).
So the question is will you be engaged enough second semester of your senior year of HS to meet the demands of this class?
