Do colleges see first semester senior year grades of RD applicants?

Hi, at the end of the junior year my cumulative UW GPA is 3.89, but I'm pretty sure that it will be 3.91 UW after first sem. Numerically, this is a small difference, but aesthetically, it seems to be a big one, as it crosses the 3.9 "hurdle." Will colleges see this? First semester ends early January, two weeks after I will submit apps.

Thank you.

Yes, colleges will see your 1st semester grades. And there is no such hurdle, both GPA’s will be viewed equally.

bump 10char

Why are you bumping this? You got an answer. Lulz.

You already got a good answer. Yes, most (if not all) colleges will see first semester grades. I’ve never heard of a "3.9 hurdle’ so to speak. A 3.91 vs a 3.89 is just splitting hairs really.

The OP is bumping to see if others answer the same, which would validate the first response.

However, what the OP SHOULD be doing to be sure about this kind of information is going to the primary source, the college websites. If they checked a few of these, they’d quickly see that midyear grade reports are required by most schools for RD applicants.

And then they wouldn’t need to bump threads and hope anonymous internet people are correct, they’d have first hand knowledge.
