Do colleges take into account AP classes taken senior year?

When they are looking at your application, will I have a benefit if I take more advanced classes senior year or do they not care?

In my case, my current schedule is:

AP Econ Micro/Macro
AP Lit <<--I want to drop this
AP Calc
AP Physics
Spanish 5-6 (Third year)
Digital Photo

I'm feeling senioritis creeping in...I want to drop AP Lit and replace it with Regular Senior English, which from what I hear, is ridiculously easy. I'm not doing football this year, so I have plenty of extra time to write college apps + essays, etc. Will it dramatically affect my college admissions if I drop out of AP Literature?

I don’t know if dramatically is the word. But colleges care about your senior schedule. Then again, I’m all for students being given the freedom with their classes to do what they want, for whatever reasons they want, and not living or even constructing their schedules for college/parents/whoever, but rather for themselves. But most schools don’t operate that way.

You’ve still got three AP courses, so it’s not like you’re blowing off your senior year. If you were my kid, I’d say gp ahead and switch out of the AP English, but then make sure you pull your weight in the other classes.
