Do community colleges offer/give scholarships? (non-sport and non-financial help)

Do community colleges offer/give scholarships? Scholarships that don’t have to do with sports or because your family can’t afford it. By scholarships I just mean any way to reduce college costs.

The specific college that I’m wondering about is Mongomery community college (In MD). I’m in the state and in the county.

Some do, some don’t.
You would need to ask at your community college.

But on average do you think they give out much? Since I see questions on google that say do community colleges give out scholarships a good amount and that indicates that they probably don’t. (idk)

If anyone knows the norm or the average.

Some states give out scholarships that can be used at community colleges (California, Florida, Colorado are some that I know of). In some states, cc is free (Tennessee, Oregon) or nearly so. Pell grants can be used at cc.

(I think you posted this in the wrong forum.)

oof, I did. idk if I did. I don’t know of any other more suited college forums either.

I believe work study applies to community college costs as well.

I don’t think many community colleges provide merit scholarships if that’s what you’re asking.

OP we cant predict for you with no info. You can look at the common data set. If a citizen, you can run the NPC, net price calculator. You can call.

Montgomery CC has a whole list of grants and scholarships

Some CCs give merit scholarships for stats but you need to look on the cc website and compare to your stats.
The issue is that even if you get a scholarship for the first two years at Montgomery and commute, you’ll need to attend the last 2 years somewhere else except that transfers get lousy aid. So if you have good stats it can be worthwhile to apply to the 4-year universities straight from high school, as a freshman, and get scholarships for all 4 years.

What’s your situation exactly?
What are your stats?
