Do December SAT Scores Need to Be Rushed? Most of the schools I'm applying to say that I can submit December scores, but I emailed Middlebury and they told me that all scores have to be postmarked prior to January 1, their deadline. Since normal delivery takes, at least according to the College Board, up to for weeks, would I have to have them rush delivered? I think it is terrible that colleges aren't clearer about details such as this as students are already so stressed over the process.

You should call Middlebury and ask if they download scores like every other college in America or are they solely and unbelievably reliant on a mailed form. I’m one to believe that “rush” scoring is baloney for real colleges since it’s a data dump anyway.

Many colleges tell students that directly – basically that for them, “rush” scoring is a scam to their applicants.
