Do Elite Colleges Discriminate Against Asian Students?

Why do you continue to use such straw man arguments? No one here, especially me, is arguing that the kid shouldn’t get benefits based on SES affirmative action. It is still possible for SES or even racial AA and no negative action to exist at the same time!

If anything, based on the rather amusing theory of “privilege”, whites are the first ones to get negative action.

I’ve said this before, and I’m not sure if you responded to it, but one reason URMs are given benefits is that the values they were raised with are different than the ones universities typically prefer. Should Asians be given advantages of this? Or at least, which ones?

The over representation of Jewish students at top school also reduces numbers for people who aren’t Jewish.

Oh Asians, taking away our university spots! Admission officials should be ashamed for letting them in.

Pizzagirl, what did Asians do to you? And I’m curious, why do you think is it acceptable for you to have such a tone that make you so sound so against one racial group. If I were to talk about African Americans in the same manner, a lot more people would call me out on that.
