so i have a pretty unique situation. anyways, to cut it short, i started out at a cc, transferred to a school ranked in the 30's in northern master's universities in us news, transferred to a top public school, and am in the process of thinking about transferring to a top private or ivy-league school.

that would make it my THIRD transfer.. and i was wondering if grad schools and employers really cared that much. it's not like i'm transferring just for the heck of it or that i don't know what i'm doing. i just did horribly in high school and want to attend the best possible school, get the best education, and put myself in the best situation to get an i-banking job when i graduate.

i would love to stay at my current school because it is prestigious, has a top ranked business program, and has great i-banking placement.. but i will be taking out over 30k in loans for the next 3 years. i would like to transfer as a junior to a top private such as northwestern or uchicago, or an ivy league school that would give me a better financial aid package. any input? thanks!

the only reason i could think of why they wouldn't like it is receiving four college transcripts, rather than one.. haha.

how hard is to just say what school you go to?

yah i dont get the people who hav eissues listing their schools ...

yeah dude. dont even trip. do it. DO IT.

i believe in you. i believe you can fly. i believe you can touch the sky. i bet you think about it every night and day. spread your wings man, and fly away.

nanana

Yeah, I would like to know what schools you have gone to.

I would imagine the one who cares most will be school(s) #4. You would need to have a pretty darn good reason--in my opinion, ASIDE from financial aid-- to transfer to for the third time. As an applicant, you'll most certainly come off as a student who is chasing prestige and never satisfied--why should they think you'll be satisfied there? Also, a lot of these colleges care about how you have attempted to positively affect others (read: ec's and such) and any impact you've had on people or organizations would be quite ephemeral--how do you show commitment? You have a huge hurdle to climb.

Next would be graduate schools. If you managed to transfer for the third time, you would need to bring strong passion and commitment to the fourth school and its community. You would need to show it was truly a matter of fit all along and you were finally able to find that.

Finally, some employers may care as they want leadership. How do you show leadership when you hop around all the time? Again, resolved, for the most part, by trying to impact school #4 and putting yourself in leadership positions.

Good luck.

thanks for all the comments so far!
