Do GSP decisions come before regulars?

Someone from my school just sent me a message today and told me she got in to the GSP. She applied Early Decision, like me. I didn't get any letter in the mail. Do acceptance letters come before rejections?

does ur friend go to school in the us?

she is in my school, my grade. She's in a few of my classes.

what state are you from?

I live in New York

In previous years I know that it was sent out earlier, but this is the first I have heard of anyone getting their GSP letter. It was much earlier in past years. There's also the possibility she is lying.

It is true that others got their GSP's much earlier than this year. It's really confusing how others on CC havent gotten GSP'ed yet. I highly doubt NONE OF US didn't get GSPed. I also read Slater that you lived in Long Island. Do you go to Herricks?

Great Neck. I checked my mailbox today, nothing :-/

Oh...nothing for me too..nothing till Monday..:(

the decions are being mailed the 11th and 12th....

ehh not really. my friend got her acceptance letter yesterday.

wait crnluvxoxo89...ur friend got CAS acceptance yesterday?!?! or gsp?

CAS.
it killed me too :(
so much that i actually had a dream about opening a rejection letter.

this is so random.....its always "my friend got accepted". or the international kids got accepted. but has anyone in the US THEMSELVES gotten a letter yet?

No-I'm from FL. I do have a friend in NJ, however, who has been accepted GSP.

Breathe.
Last year my friend called me the last week of November telling me that people were getting their acceptances to GSP already. I had a minor heart attack whenever the mail came. I got my GSP acceptance Dec. 4th. It depends on when they mail them out, but just because one person gets their acceptance, it doesn't mean you're not going to get one. No worries. Relax. You will find out soon enough, and what happens happens.
Think about it this way: one year from now, no matter where you are, you will be having an amazing time in college. Yes? Yes.

maybe in the first 3 days acceptance letter, next 2 days rejection letters...

it's easy enough to say, "breathe, relax," etc., but for some of us, knowing asap is essential.. i'm not wasting money on applications anywhere else until i get rejected from nyu.

:/

i really hope it doesn't take until december

Trust me, I know how hard it is to relax at this time of year, especially since I went through the same exact thing last year and I felt like my entire life was depending on that one letter. But worrying over the "official" dates that acceptance or rejection letters go out, or over a friend in a nearby town getting an acceptance before you, will only make you stress out a hundred times more. Seriously, try not to pay attention to all of this talk about when the letters are going out, it will drive you crazyyyy (like it did to me last year).

oops.. i mean late december

(see! the stress is keeping me from thinking straight)
