How are my chances not high if may ask?
All my B’s were from spanish. If i didnt take spanish I wouldve has a 3.9/4.75, so does that make a difference?
no, BS/MD programs don’t care which course you took.
@ObamaLlama213 With a 3.67 GPA, your chances at many GPA centric programs is going to be quite low. However, depending on where you live, you may still have a decent shot at some BS/MD programs.
I would suggest speaking to your school counselor to get some support on applying as soon as possible.
Very Low GPA 3.67 for most BS/MD programs. Did you take SAT/ACT ? What are those scores ?
@grtd2010 OP mentioned having a strong ACT score of 34. One of my students this past cycle was accepted to a BS/MD program with a 34 ACT and a GPA of ~3.4. Definitely not the norm, but this individual had a lot to offer to help compensate for the low GPA.
Your ECs are definitely good (lots of service), but you do have a low GPA (was your AP Calc BC grade lower than a B+?) for these super score focused programs and you don’t have the major hook to make up for it (such as major science fair award or research publication)…but I think you have a good chance at some BS/MD programs!
Especially ones with slightly lesser known undergrads (ie St. Bonaventure and GW, Wayne State, USF, St. Louis, UMKC (maybe)…)…so I would definitely say apply! Good luck!
