What exactly are they looking for in BS/MD programs?

Hi, I am currently a high school junior in Colorado. I just want to get feedback on my chances of getting into a BS//MD program. What do they look for and how can I improve my chances of getting in before I apply next fall?
Here are my stats so far:

AP Classes taken: AP Calc BC, AP Chemistry, AP US History, AP Lang
AP Classes that I'm taking senior year: Calc 3 (and maybe differential equations), AP Bio, AP Gov, AP Lit
ACT- 33
SAT- 2010 (kind of low...I'm gonna retake it)
*Haven't taken the subject tests yet.

-Marching band (section leader)
-piano (for about 11 years)
-Chemistry club
-volunteer organization for my school
-National Honor Society
-Spanish Honor Society
-volunteering at a local hospital (for about 2.5 years)
-Leadership team for my volunteering at the hospital
-a little bit of doctor shadowing
-volunteering to raise money for cancer research
-I do cell biology research at a local college (publishing a paper soon)
-Grand prize winner of my regional science fair
-winner of my science fair category (Medicine and Health)
-CSEF and ISEF finalist
-went to Africa and taught elementary school kids for a week

Thank you!! :)

You have great chances. Try to get either your ACT or SAT up as high as possible and maintain that GPA. Keep working on your extracurriculars and try to obtain leadership positions in your clubs for your senior year.

Don’t waste your summer! That is the most critical time period! Do some more doctor shadowing and start your college list/essays. A good place to start is your “Why medicine?” essay as it will fulfill many of your essays and possibly even your interview responses. Good luck!

Thanks! I actually just got an internship at the Colorado Children’s Hospital for this summer (I will be working with a pediatric oncologist) so hopefully that additional research will help me out. And I’ll definitely be taking the ACT/SAT again. Thank you! :)
