There are plenty of people on the admitted thread that had lower stats who were accepted as well as those with higher stats that were rejected. Your GPA is a little low but your rank is solid and your SATs are around the 40th-50th%-tile. I’d categorize your chances as: fair to good; a good possibility but nothing to feel real comfortable about.

I think that the fact that your 3.6 puts you in the top 10% at your high school means that you are in a very different situation than a student from a hs with major grade inflation where 3.6 would mean something entirely different. Take a look at the stats on the thread for applicants who were accepted and rejected his year; I don’t see why you wouldn’t have a solid shot.

Also, USC does not have EA, but you must apply by Dec. 1 and have all of your materials in in order to be considered for merit-based scholarships.

Finally, does your school have Naviance or maintain statistics about students who applied and were accepted or rejected by various colleges? If so, go to your GC and take a look as this might give you a better sense of where you stand.

SC takes a holistic view of applicants. Have you taken any leadership roles at your school? Do you play a musical instrument, have a unique talent, traveled, won awards or received any special honors? Did you take a rigorous courseload? Will you receive an IB diploma? Are you taking any honors classes?

What is your planned major? Will you need to prepare a portfolio or audition for your USC choice?

There are many students from Texas at USC. After California it is the U.S. state most represented.

IMO, it’s a high match for you. Around 80-85% chance you will be admitted, all other factors aside (essay, recs, e.c’s, etc.)
