Do I have a chance at any of these schools?

Hey CC. So basically, I finished my freshmen year at the Pennsylvania State University Smeal College of Business and I am planning on attending the school for my sophomore year as well. I applied as a transfer student this year to BU and Northeastern and was accepted with generous scholarships; however, I have been told that Penn State has the same, if not better, prestige than those 2 schools which is why I decided to stay. Thus, I am planning on transferring to even better schools after my sophomore year. The schools that I intend to apply to next year are: UC Berkeley, USC, Georgetown, NYU Stern, UMichigan Ross, and BC Carroll.

My transfer essays should be a bit above average, I assume.

I believe junior year transfer don't need SAT scores so I probably won't put that in my application.
So, do you guys think I have a chance at any of those schools I mentioned?

Can anyone chance me?

weird, I only know one Korean from Saint Michaels who went to Penn state 2 years ago. Since you said you just finished freshman year, you wouldn’t be A.T

Throw out Berkeley. Haas has only accepted one OSS applicant in a few years.

Is Berkeley that hard…? How about the other schools I’ve mentioned at least?

Get one more semester of straight As (and midterm report), and you have a decent shot at all of them. Stern will be hard, but doable.

Make sure to write convincing essays.

Oh man… another semester with all As is going to be tough. Does my internship at BCS International help a lot?

anyone???

******bump

anyone…?

can anyone please chance me? I’m very desperate…

UC Berkeley - Highly doubt it, if its for Haas that is, You need atleast calc 2 with 3.8 and above maybe a little less to be considered a competitive applicant.

USC - Good chance that is if you get all A’s or above your cumulative gpa for the next semester or year w/e (upward trend is important) ALSO do all the GE’s they have on the site it helps ALOT.

Georgetown - I have no clue

NYU Stern - Good chance same thing as USC

UMichigan Ross - no clue

BC - If its for CSOM don’t get your hopes up but doesn’t hurt trying, their external transfer rate is RIDICULOUSLY LOW … I applied with a 4.0 and I’m PRETTY sure I’ll be receiving a rejection email tomorrow afternoon or today afternoon being its 1:44 here -_-"

Gluck!

Ross, judging from some other cc threads, has a higher business school rep than NYU, so you should consider your chances a bit lower too.

I am highly considering Georgetown, Berkeley, USC, and Stern. Does anyone know if I have a chance for Georgetown??

I’d say go ahead and apply to georgetown. I know two people from my CC that got accepted with 3.6-3.7 range gpa’s. I don’t know what all other criteria is looked at, but at least you’re in the grade range.

Okay, I am definitely applying to georgetown. How about USC, Berkeley, and Stern? Does anyone have any idea?

Bro … if you don’t apply you’ll never know … just don’t half @ss the applications like I did. Like I said Berkely Haas … really unlikely sorry just a fact … plus your oss student … Marshall and Stern you have a good chance if you pull through with all A’s from now on. Did you think about UT Austin Mcombs ? BTW boston college CSOM would be hard as or if not harder to get into than Haas.

The two schools that I’m mainly focusing/applying to would be UC Berkeley and UNC-Chapel Hill. Apparently, private school transfer rates are ridiculous since they have a smaller size of students… whereas, public schools accept more students due to the size of their campus, classes, etc. Would I have a chance at berkeley or chapel hill? I really hope to get in. Also, is staying at penn state smeal a good choice as well?
