I am planning on applying to the following places:
Lafayette
Franklin and Marshall
Dickinson
Gettysburgh
James Madison
Marquette
Clark(maybe)
Bucknell

Here are my stats:
International student from Bangladesh
SAT 1 2010 (CR: 680, Maths 730, Writing 600)
SAT 2 Math 1c 730, Physics 760, Chemistry 780
GPA 3.1 (school follows Edexcel O-Level and A-Level syllabus, 8 A's and 3 A's in each respectively)
Have decent ECA's (basketball team, quiz club, drama club, internship at NGO)
Need a lot of aid ( can pay at most $10,000)

So can anyone tell me if I have a good chance at getting in to any of these places?

are you sure these colleges give need based aid. you wont get away with a scholarship if you can only pay 10K. From what i know i dont think many of these universities are need based for internationals

Your stats are very good but not exceptional. your SAT scores are actually very good inspite of what they appear to be coz of CR and M. I think you should consider one or two big colleges that give lots of Aid. all these are either good matches or safeties

as a fellow bangladeshi i can assure you that there are going to be a TON of people applying to Lafayette. it is best that you avoid it. which school are u from btw??

ya sorry abt that...i was logged in at my frnds computer and forgot to logout and he accidentally posted that using my account...btw most of these places do give need based aid tho they r not need-blind to internationals

I'm pretty sure you're in at Marquette. A friend of mine from high school is there right now as an international, and you guys have more or less the same test scores and grades, although he has a lot more ECs. I'm not sure how much aid he got though.

I heard that aid was very limited at F&M. A friend of mine who's there said that since they're constructing a new building or something, they don't have so much aid. Don't know how much truth there is to that but very few internationals got in last year with good aid. I think Lafayette and Gettysburgh would be better bets. If you can pay $10,000, I think you'll have pretty good chances, provided you write a good enough essay and have the extra curriculars to back them up.

I know Lafayette is pretty generous with their aid but about thirty kids are applying their from my country alone....a few of them have better stats than mine but doubt if too many have better esay than mine...so if Lafayette puts emphasis on the essay I should have a chance...decided not to apply to Gettysburg as they are very stringent about giving aid...I think they only gave aid to 30 intels last year while F&M gave it to more than 100 (the amount per student was similar)
