Do i have a chance for top 10 colleges like MIT? thanks

peopleeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!

people, thank you a lot if u would chance me

SAT needs to be really high(yeah, we asians don’t make it easy), like 2300+
Try to get recruited for one of the sports.
Get REALLY lucky with essays

You really should bring those SAT’s up. From your AP and SAT II scores, there’s really no reason your SAT I’s should be lower than 700 across the board. Study and take them again and then you’ll do fine! Ivy League schools (and MIT, I suppose), really like to see a student who has a passion for something which shines through on the app. For instance, if an application has distinctions like science olympiad, Intel finalist, etc. the adcoms will think, “Oh, that student really has a passion for science and is really good at it.” Find your niche and explore!
And keep in mind that a top 10 is a reach for even the most qualified students and not getting in isn’t the end of the world. There are plenty of colleges out there and one is just right for you!

thank you a lot. nonetheless i will be a senior after august, which means there won’t be enough time for me to get award like the intel stuff. i am NOT a genius but i am well rounded for all the sports and volunteer i did. Don’t know if there’s still a chance. Some people who get admitted really make me confused, they don’t really have alumni relations or extremely high SAT. ehhhhhh thank you.

2300+ isn’t so easy for me at least…English is NOT my native language. i don’t think im gonna get 700+ on CR, what a pity. BTW, do u mean get recruited for sports in college? well, if it’s Harvard or MIT, Im gonna definitely be a team member… if it’s DUKE, i dont think so lol.

Hey, I’m not a genius either. I didn’t win any big science competition or even enter in one because I’m from a small town in the middle of nowhere. But I did do cancer research over one summer and I guess that helped. I was well-rounded as an athlete (but not good enough to be recruited) too. Just get that SAT up and you should be in good shape for the admissions process.
To me, the whole process was a lottery (to this day, I do not know how I got in). You just have to be in the right place at the right time. Like I said, it helps if you shine in one area because if they’re looking for that kind of person and your application comes up, voila! you’re in the right place at the right time. But it really is a lottery and what gets you in the door and lets you have a roll of the dice is a minimum SAT/ACT, AP, and SAT II scores. So get that SAT I score up and you’ll have as good of a chance as the next person!

thanks a lot, im gonna work hard on that. good luck
