Hi!
Keep in mind that UF uses holistic admissions, about 50% is academic (GPA/course rigor/essay and test scores) and the other 50% is none academic factors (like clubs and volunteering).
Your un-weighted GPA should be 3.6 or better. 3.8 or better is best. UF also considers class rank (not as important as other factors, like GPA), so it helps being in the top 10% of your class.
This year, for accepted students, the average SAT score is 1364, with the middle 50 percent span between 1300 and 1440, and the average ACT score is 30 with the middle 50 percent span between 29 and 33. You need to raise your test scores. Other factors may help compensate for a poor test score (like GPA, EC’s, etc.), but 1060 is still likely too low. Take the test again in the Fall (and perhaps the ACT, as some folks do better on one test, vs the other).
If you’ve earned your AA as a dual enrolled student in Florida, you have two “shots” at admissions. First, you will be considered as a normal first time in college freshman student.
If you’re not accepted as a freshman student, they send your applications to your college (the college is based on the major you’ve chosen). The college will then consider you as a “transfer” student. Some majors are much more competitive than others, so it’s at this point that your choice of major could impact admissions.
Good Luck!
