Do I have a chance?

Hello. I am not usual student, I moved to US by the 10th grade, so I've lost 1 year of American HS. Back in my home country, we didn't have AP/nonAP classes, everyone had the same classes, so my transcript is kind of complicated. My average is about 3.8-3.9 unweighted.

My grades so far are:
Visual Arts - 85 (took back in my home country)
Physical Science - 85 (back home)
2 years of Russian - 95 (back home)
Biology - 95 (back home)
Math 1 - 85 (back home)(in my home country there is a lot of space for bias in grades, because of different grading system, and my math teacher simply didn't like me)
World Geography - 95 (back home)
Computing in Modern World - 95 (back home)
Personal Fitness - 85 (back home)
10th Grade Lit/Comp - 95

In US I've got

ESOL - A (don't remember exact grade)
Honors Math 2 - 99
Chemistry - A
Theatre - A
World History - A
Health - A

This year I take:
AP US History
Honors Human Anatomy
Honors Pre-Calculus
American Lit (I don't take honors yet, because I am not sure in my language skills, but I will try to take honors 2nd semester)
Web Design 1
Broadcasting and Video Production 1

Next Year I plan to take:

AP Government (half-year course)
AP Economy (half-year course)
AP Statistics (I am really good at math, and I've already taken 4 years of science, so councillor would let me take Statistics instead of Science)
AP Calculus
Honors 12 grade lit
Web Design 2
BVP 2

If I'd get all A's in my current and next year's classes, would it be possible for me to get into Georgia Tech (Georgia Institute of Technology)? I am a Georgia resident, and I am probably going to get something around 1900-2000 on SAT. I am in a Math Team and Chess Club, going to do volunteering work starting September break. I am also a foreigner (Russian). I am planning to major in Computer Science. Thank you for your attention, I hope you will help me to answer this question.

no one wants to answer my question?

Take a look at Georgia Tech’s common data set:

http://www.irp.gatech.edu/sites/www.irp.gatech.edu/files/CDS%202010-2011%20updated%20May%202011.pdf

It gives a lot of information on the criteria of students they admit. Based on your situation you probably have a good chance. It would help if you’re female, they accept 57% of female applicants compared to 49% of male applicants. Not uncommon for a tech school.

Your projected SAT score of 1900-2000 is right in the middle of their “25/75” range of 1820-2120 (25% scored below 1820, 25% scored above 2120). Plus as a public school they likely have a mandate to accept a certain percentage of in-state applicants. Only 26% of undergrads are from out of state. Good luck!

Ok, thanks for info. I feel terribly for screwing up my 10th grade (took just one honors class, because I didn’t understand the school system, and thought it is ok; we have a different system in Russia) and having some not good grades from my old school. I will try to write kick-ass essay, because I have a lot to tell about, probably it is going to save me. Currently I am planning backup colleges in case I will not be accepted into GA Tech. Are my stats good for UGA Computer Science? Are there any other good CS schools in Georgia?

Based on their common data set, UGA is a bit less selective than GA Tech:

UGA;

Their computer science department is in their school of art and sciences:

As for other CS schools in Georgia; I’m not familiar with Georgia being a midwesterner. You may want to check this website and control for “Georgia” and research other possibilities:

thanks, your help is much appreciated

finally, I’ve got my SAT scores. It was better than expected for the first try, but worse than actually needed. Math 710, Writing 630 , and most important Reading 550, cumulative 1890. I am really disappointed with reading part, but I understand that this is because I actually speak English only for 2 years. Is there any way to improve Reading section? I need to improve it a lot, at least to writing section level. Any help from people, especially people for whom English is the second language, would be much appreciated

U vsex takaya je problema bratik. Everyone especially international student struggles with reading. The only remedy for that is practicing. Keep practicing because practice makes perfect. Udachi tebe! Ya toje xochu v ga tech! Uvidemsya tam! Good luck!
