I am a CC student looking to transfer into a UC. My main goal is to transfer to UCSC i have a 2.9 GPA majoring in sociology
I have a very clean recored NO “W’s”, F’s, or D’s, and i completed the IGETC i also wrote a very good person statement. I haven’t heard from UCSC yet and I’m starting to worry. I know my GPA isn’t the greatest but i already heard form one UC that has accepted me. Can anyone give me some advice please.
This is pretty limited info, but tbh no one could say anything definite. Sure you have a chance, the minimum GPA required is a 2.8. Is it a good chance? A not-so-great chance? No one here is really qualified to say and you’re at a point where it could go either way.
A few factors could work to your advantage. Did you get good grades in your socio classes? If most of your C’s were in socio classes then that would look a bit bad, I suppose, but if your grades were decent within your major that’s a huge factor that’s taken into account next to overall GPA.
